Notes From Wagin Camera Club Judges
A few technical pointers for those budding photographers.
- Make sure you are adhering to the specific competition topic, e.g.if it says Individual Flower that is what is meant – only one flower.
- Compose your subject well, try not to have too many distractions in the background. The use of the crop tool on your phone or computer can often help to clear clutter from around the subject.
- Make sure you hold your camera steady. The main subject has to be clean and sharp.
- Check your subject for any distracting elements, e.g. hair in face
- Horizon should be straight.
- Watch for ‘edge tension’ – subject too close to the edge of the photo or areas cut off.
